This historic site sits off a pergola covered patio overlooking a walled garden and is decorated with antiques and handmade quilts. Included in your private suite are a living room, bedroom, dining room, fully equipped kitchen and a private bath. We are only 2.5 Miles (5 minutes) from Hersheypark and the new Giant Center. In addition, we are centrally located to Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Gettysburg with short drives to Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Mottern's Bed & Breakfast is located at the center of Hummelstown, a short walk to shops, restaurants, banks, churches, and the local park. Hummelstown is an old fashioned community first settled by the "Pennsylvania Dutch" in the 1700's. 28 East Main was built just after the Civil War by Sgt. Samuel Greenawalt. The B&B is located in the "new" addition added in 1904 by Harry Hummel. Doctors Horn and Weber both used part of the house for their medical practices from the 1920's through the 1970's. We purchased and completely restored the property in 1986 and opened the B&B in 1990.

The B&B was recently renovated - so that it is charming and up-to-date. Central air conditioning and a new heating system ensure your comfort year-round. The B&B is a private apartment "suite" of 5 rooms on the first floor. It sits off a pergola covered patio and overlooks a walled and beautifully landscaped garden. Mottern's Bed and Breakfast provides perfect accommodations for couples and small families.
Description of Rooms:
Included in your accommodations are a living room with love seat sofa-bed, bedroom with queen sized bed, bath, fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room. The patio is furnished and has a gas grill for your use. There are 2 color cable TVs and a VCR. We can sleep a family of 4 comfortably and have a crib and highchair for babies.
Special requests are welcome. Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets, but will be happy to provide kennel information. The B&B is smoke-free.
Directions:
From The PA Turnpike (Rt. 76): Exit at the Harrisburg East Exit (#19) and use the far right-hand toll booth, immediately bear right onto Rt. 283 East Lancaster. Exit at the Hummelstown/Middletown Exit (approx. 3.5 miles). Turn left at the signal light. Go 3 miles to the 3rd signal light and turn right onto Main St. 1/2 block turn left at the stone wall. Our lot is to your right.
From Rt. 81: Exit at the Manada Hill/Hershey Exit (Rt. 39) and follow the signs for Hershey. (If traveling South on 81 turn left onto 39 / if traveling North turn right onto 39. At the 3rd signal light(7miles) turn right onto Hersheypark Drive. At the 2nd light turn right to Hummelstown. Go 1 mile to 28 East Main Street- turn right at the stone wall. (If you get to the signal light you have gone 1/2 block to far).
